In this lecture the Author presents the experience of the School of Milan in the use of the ceramic dental implants . The overview starts showing long term results of clinical and experimental studies with One piece zirconia implant.
The Author evaluates survival and success rates, soft tissue health and radiographic marginal bone loss (MBL) of zirconia dental implants placed in the esthetic regions and in the posterior areas of the jaws and in association with multiple or single implant restorations with 10 -14 years follow-up. Moreover, zirconia presents high biocompatibility and low plaque adhesion.
