“MELISA® test for detecting metal sensitivity ” – 2025 EACim congress

Lecture Abstract :

Doctor Robert Rivest has been involved since the ’90 in evaluating new tests in the medical laboratory to improve clinical diagnostic.  His approach has a global “holistic” view of the patient’s health, and a consultation with his patients normally includes in addition to classical analyses such special profiles as gut microbiota, urinary neurotransmitters, toxic metal evaluation, etc.

Trace elements and toxic metals can be measured in blood and urine.  However, in a functional approach, it can prove important to evaluate the body response to these metals.  In MGD laboratory in Geneva, who receives samples from countries in Europe, we are using the MELISA® test to detect metal sensitivity in patients with clinical symptoms of a type IV hypersensitivity to metal, which completes our Dentoscreen microbiote (by bacterial PCR) for periodontics.  Use of the test and examples will be presented and discussed.
