This event marks the second edition of the Dubai Ceramic Implant Conference, organized by the International Academy of Ceramic Implantology (IAOCI). Since 2010, the IAOCI has organized this prestigious event every year around the world.

Dental implants have evolved considerably in their design, materials and manufacturing protocols. In addition, the biological interactions of these implants with tissues and their operational environments are increasingly studied.

This is particularly due to the exponential increase in peri-implant pathologies. Recent scientific studies have indicated that materials used in the manufacturing of dental implants, such as titanium and titanium alloys, may contribute to peri-implant tissue degradation, metal allergies, implant failures and other systemic health problems.

In response, major implant manufacturers have begun to focus on ceramic implant systems by manufacturing, distributing, or acquiring companies specializing in this area.

With increasing health awareness among patients, there is a growing demand for more biological and minimally invasive procedures.
